Brentwood residents can help a garden take root
Residents can volunteer, donate supplies or simply bring their gardening experience to a community garden at Doddinghurst Allotments. Supported by Brentwood Borough Council through the Brentwood Health and Wellbeing Board, the project welcomes beginners as well as experienced gardeners.
A shared space to grow and learn
The garden gives local people a place to grow fruit and vegetables, spend time outdoors and meet others. It is intended as a supportive space where residents can take part regardless of their gardening knowledge.

Students from Endeavour Cooperative Academy have helped develop the site through planting and fencing. Their involvement has offered practical learning and a chance to contribute time to their community, according to the school’s Head of Sixth Form and Assistant Headteacher, Peggy Gisby.

Volunteers and donations can support the garden
The project currently has volunteer support and is looking to build a wider network to help sustain the space. Donations, including small contributions, would go towards garden supplies. Brentwood Golf Club General Manager and Director Russell Phillips has also sponsored the project.
