Residents, businesses and community groups can support the Santa Appeal Gift Drop-off at seven locations across Bridgend County Borough from Monday 23 November to Thursday 3 December 2026. The appeal requests donations; there is no entry or booking information given. Gift donors should bring a new, unwrapped present in a giftbag. Monetary donations can be made online through Awen’s Just Giving page until Friday 11 December.

Bridgend County Borough Council’s Social Services and Wellbeing department is coordinating the annual appeal with the Domestic Abuse Service. It supports vulnerable children and young people from birth to 21 across the county borough. The council says the initiative aims to help ensure they have a gift to open on Christmas morning.

Where and when to drop off a gift

The gift collection runs for eleven days, from 23 November through 3 December. Presents can be left at:

  • Civic Offices
  • Bridgend Life Centre
  • Pyle Library
  • Maesteg Library
  • Porthcawl Library
  • Pencoed Library
  • Aberkenfig Library

The locations span civic, leisure and library venues across the borough, giving donors a choice of drop-off point. The source does not list daily collection hours, so check library opening times on the Awen website before visiting a library. It does not specify opening hours for the other collection points.

Gifts, online donations and group fundraising

A new, unwrapped present should be placed in a giftbag before drop-off. After collection, volunteers will sort and wrap the donated gifts before distribution to children and young people across the borough.

The council particularly welcomes monetary donations because these allow organisers to buy suitable gifts for recipients across the wide age range. Individuals and businesses can donate online through Awen’s Just Giving page. Workplaces, community groups and organisations can also take part by arranging fundraising, with bake sales and sponsored events given as examples in the council’s announcement.

Last year’s campaign raised more than £11,869.13, according to the council. That figure is a result from the previous appeal; the announcement does not set a fundraising target for 2026. The monetary donation deadline is Friday 11 December, eight days after the final listed gift drop-off date.

Key details before you go

The council’s announcement gives no event start or end times, entry fee, booking requirement, transport information or accessibility details. The practical steps provided are to leave a new, unwrapped present in a giftbag at one of the seven listed venues during the collection dates, check Awen’s website for library hours, or donate money online by 11 December.
