Cardiff Bay fun park returns 18 July with 80m Skyfall
Cardiff Bay Family Fun Park will return to Roald Dahl Plass from 18 July to 31 August 2026, bringing rides, game stalls and free family entertainment to the waterfront throughout the summer holidays.
The funfair opens at 11am and is aimed at families and children of all ages. No booking is required, although rides and other attractions are individually priced rather than covered by a single admission ticket. Card and cash will be accepted at the attractions. An 80-metre ride joins the Cardiff funfair
The headline addition for 2026 is Skyfall, described by the event organiser as the UK’s largest travelling free-fall drop tower. Standing 80 metres tall, the ride begins with a gradual ascent while its gondola rotates through 360 degrees, giving riders panoramic views across Cardiff before the drop.

Other listed attractions include Dodgems, the Funhouse, Runaway Train, Bungee Trampolines and Water Walkers. Slower-paced children’s rides will cater for younger visitors, while family game stalls will offer opportunities to win large cuddly toys.
That range allows families to shape a visit around different ages and appetites for thrill rides. Because payment is taken separately at individual attractions, visitors can choose which rides and games they want to include rather than buying one all-inclusive ticket.
Free shows offer a break between rides
A programme of free entertainment will run alongside the paid funfair attractions. According to Visit Cardiff Events, the programme is expected to include magic shows, princess sing-alongs and character meet-and-greets.
These shows provide a separate part of the visit for families who want time away from the rides, although individual performance times have not been published. Sweet and savoury takeaway food will also be sold on the site.
Roald Dahl Plass is positioned between Mermaid Quay and the Wales Millennium Centre, placing the event within Cardiff Bay rather than at a separate out-of-town fairground.
