The supplied event information does not state ticket prices or booking arrangements. Individual venue names, transport guidance and accessibility details are also not provided. The event is aimed at the general public, with the featured Team England appearances running from 24 to 30 July.
Sport England has highlighted six individuals and teams previously supported through National Lottery investment in the SportsAid-managed Backing the Best programme. Their schedules cover para powerlifting, 3×3 wheelchair basketball, swimming, para swimming, artistic gymnastics and triple jump.
Medal records shape the opening weekend
Mark Swan enters the lightweight para powerlifting final after earning silver at Birmingham 2022, silver in the 65kg category at the Paris 2024 Paralympics and bronze at the 2025 World Para Powerlifting Championships. The 25-year-old County Durham athlete is scheduled to compete from 13:00 to 16:30 on Friday.

England’s men’s and women’s 3×3 wheelchair basketball teams begin against Australia on the same day. Both teams won bronze when the discipline made its Commonwealth debut at Birmingham 2022.
Backing the Best-supported James Hazell and Tom Harvey are in the men’s squad alongside Peter Cusask and Oscar Knight. Lucy Robinson joins Charlotte Moore, Jade Atkin and Joy Haizelden in the women’s team after previously winning two Paralympic and three European medals.
Freya Anderson also starts on Friday. The two-time Olympian has collected six Commonwealth medals across the 2018 and 2022 Games, including four relay medals in Birmingham. Her Glasgow programme includes freestyle and medley relay events as well as the individual 100m and 200m freestyle.

Two comeback stories and a Paralympic champion
Poppy Maskill’s only listed Glasgow event is the S14 200m freestyle on Saturday 25 July. The 21-year-old won five medals, including three golds, at the Paris Paralympics and set a world record in the S14 100m butterfly. She was made an MBE in 2025.
Artistic gymnast Taeja James returns to the Commonwealth stage eight years after winning team silver as a teenager at Gold Coast 2018. The Nottingham-born 23-year-old stepped away from elite competition for five years before earning a place in England’s five-member Glasgow team.
Triple jumper Georgina Forde-Wells is making her Commonwealth Games debut. The 23-year-old Northampton athlete arrives with multiple national indoor and outdoor titles and is listed for qualifying on Wednesday 29 July, followed by the final on Thursday.
