Stockport residents get confirmed council cabinet

Stockport Council has confirmed that Cllr Mark Roberts will continue as Leader of the Council, with Cllr Jilly Julian remaining Deputy Leader for the new municipal year.

The appointments were confirmed as the council set out its cabinet team and wider committee roles following its Council Meeting. Cllr Roberts became leader in 2025, succeeding Cllr Mark Hunter.

Cabinet members confirmed for Stockport

The cabinet will include Cllr Dan Oliver, Cllr Grace Baynham, Cllr Colin MacAlister, Cllr Helen Foster-Grime, Cllr Micheala Meikle and Cllr Jake Austin.

Each cabinet member is responsible for a portfolio covering areas of council work, meaning residents can identify which councillor has political oversight of services and policy areas across the authority.
