Two more people have been charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon in the investigation into the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old David Wynter at Brent Civic Centre, the Metropolitan Police said.

Jahquarn St Hillaire, 18, of Preston Road, Wembley, and a 17-year-old boy from the Wembley area were charged on Saturday, 29 August. The younger defendant cannot be named for legal reasons.

Both have been remanded to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 31 August. The charges are allegations, and criminal proceedings against the defendants remain active.

Three defendants now face murder charges

Officers arrested St Hillaire and the 17-year-old on Friday, 28 August, on suspicion of murder and possession of an offensive weapon. Their charges followed those brought against a 15-year-old boy on Thursday, 27 August.

The 15-year-old was remanded in custody after appearing at Willesden Magistrates’ Court that day. He is due to make his next court appearance at the Old Bailey on Thursday, 24 September.

A third person arrested on 28 August faces a separate allegation. Diego Farquharson, 20, of Birchen Grove, NW9, has been charged with assisting an offender and is scheduled to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on 31 August. Police said he remained in custody.

The latest charges mean three teenage or young adult defendants are accused of David’s murder, while a fourth defendant is accused of assisting an offender. No further details about the alleged roles of those charged have been released.

David Wynter died at Brent Civic Centre

Police were called to reports of a stabbing at Brent Civic Centre on Engineers Way at about 2.30pm on Tuesday, 25 August.

Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and found David with stab wounds. Paramedics treated him, but he died at the scene. His family continues to receive support from specialist officers.

The Metropolitan Police has not provided further details about the circumstances leading to the stabbing. The investigation remains open despite the charges, with detectives seeking witnesses and recordings from the area around the civic centre.

Police seek footage as Wembley patrols increase

Detective Chief Inspector Aytac Necati, who is leading the investigation, said a number of people were in the area when the incident happened and may have information or video that could assist officers.

Police have asked people not to post footage of the incident online. Detectives believe some clips may already be circulating on social media and want anyone who encounters relevant material to contact the investigation team.

Superintendent Chris Clarke said reassurance patrols had been increased locally following concern in the community. The additional police presence is expected to continue over the coming days and weeks, and residents with concerns have been encouraged to speak directly to officers.
