Brentwood residents can drop in for free advice, winter warmth packs and a slipper swap at either of two Winter Warmth events this autumn. The first is on Wednesday 21 October, 9.30am–2.30pm, at St Peter’s Church, Claughton Way, Hutton, CM13 1JS. The second is on Monday 9 November, 9.30am–12pm, at Merrymeade House, Merrymeade Chase, Brentwood, CM15 9FE. There is no charge, and residents can arrive at any time during the session; the council says no booking is needed.

Pick the date and venue that work for you

The events are hosted by Brentwood Borough Council in partnership with local health and wellbeing organisations. They are intended for Brentwood residents looking for practical guidance, support or resources to help them stay warm, safe and well during winter.

The two sessions have different hours, so check the relevant date and address before setting out. You can drop in at any point during the listed hours and choose whichever venue is more convenient.

What visitors can find at the events

Visitors can pick up free winter warmth packs, take part in a slipper swap and find information about local activities. Organisers will also provide practical guidance for the colder months, with complimentary tea and cake available. The events bring these resources together with an opportunity to speak with local health and wellbeing organisations.

Councillor Vicky Davies, Chair of Brentwood’s Health and Wellbeing Board, said the events are intended to offer practical support and a warm welcome to people feeling pressure from household costs, energy bills and everyday living expenses. She also described them as a chance for residents to meet others and make community connections.

Check details before travelling

The council’s notice does not specify transport arrangements, accessibility information or how the slipper swap works. If you need those details before attending, contact Brentwood Borough Council using its Winter Warmth events notice. The confirmed options are to attend either free drop-in session at its stated venue and time.
