Inverness appeal as concern grows for missing 13-year-old
Police Scotland is appealing for information to help trace Megan Macleod, 13, who has been reported missing from Inverness.
Megan was last seen at about 8.50pm on Tuesday, 11 August 2026, in the Brodie Road area of Ness Castle. Officers say concern for her welfare is growing as time passes and enquiries remain ongoing.
Anyone who has seen Megan, knows where she may be, or has material that could help officers should call 101 and quote reference 3727 of 11 August 2026.
Confirmed description and last known location
Megan is described as around 5ft 4in tall, of slim build, with long brown hair and brown eyes.
When she was last seen, she was wearing black leggings, a white Rolling Stones T-shirt, a black cropped jacket and white Crocs.

The last confirmed location given in the police appeal is the Brodie Road area of Ness Castle. Police Scotland has not said where Megan went after that sighting, so the appeal is focused on information that may help establish her movements or current whereabouts.
She is known to frequent Inverness city centre and has links to the Dingwall area. Police are seeking information that could help locate her in Inverness, the city centre or the Dingwall area.
Sightings, dash-cam and CCTV footage
Acting Inspector Innes said officers are continuing their enquiries and appealed for anyone who has seen Megan, or who has information about her whereabouts, to contact police.
People with private CCTV or dash-cam footage that could assist are also being asked to get in touch. This includes footage from the Brodie Road and Ness Castle area recorded around the time Megan was last seen, as it may help officers establish her movements.

The appeal does not identify a route Megan may have taken or any location she may have travelled to after Brodie Road. For that reason, police are asking for relevant information rather than limiting the appeal to a single area.
How to contact Police Scotland
Information can be passed to Police Scotland by calling 101 and quoting reference 3727 of 11 August 2026.
When contacting officers, people can identify whether they saw Megan, have information about where she may be, or hold dash-cam or private CCTV footage that could assist the ongoing enquiries.
The appeal was issued by Police Scotland News. The key confirmed details remain Megan’s description, the Brodie Road, Ness Castle sighting at about 8.50pm on 11 August, and the request for information or footage that may help locate her.
