Primary schoolchildren in Adur and Worthing can suggest names for the councils’ new food waste trucks. Entries must be submitted by Monday 9 November 2026, with an adult helping the child complete the online form.

How to enter the truck-naming competition

The competition is open to children at primary schools across Adur and Worthing. Children can suggest creative, imaginative or silly names for the vehicles. The councils’ entry form asks families to send in their ideas by the deadline.

Winning names will appear on the trucks

Judges will choose eight top names, as well as runners-up for two vehicles due to join the fleet later. Winners will see their chosen names displayed on the truck livery and have their picture taken with the vehicles at a special presentation day.
