Check Toilet Cleanliness Before Travel
Vilnius, 19 October 2026 – ToileRate, a project created in Lithuania, launched publicly on 19 October 2026, giving travellers a practical way to find and assess toilet cleanliness at cafés, restaurants and sights before visiting when planning their trips.
Toilet information for better trip planning
The directory focuses on the toilet itself rather than the overall venue. Its ratings come from registered visitors’ reviews, with cleanliness a required assessment criterion. It helps travellers find toilet information and check what to expect before arrival at locations including cafés, restaurants and other venues during trip planning and preparation.
Search works on phones and computers without an app download or registration. Users can enter a city, venue name or address, then see results as a map or list and open directions in their preferred map application. The ToileRate toilet map can also help with route planning.
Practical details available before arrival
Filters provide practical checks for trip preparation. Users can identify locations marked as having a toilet, open now, free to use, accessible without a purchase, wheelchair accessible, or equipped with baby-changing facilities. The website is available in English and Lithuanian, supporting searches across the information currently listed in the directory for trip planning.
Ratings are based on reviews from registered visitors, and cleanliness is a required assessment criterion. Scores are not imported from Google or Facebook and are not generated by artificial intelligence. Reviews and photos are checked before publication, while information that has not been established is labelled as unknown.
How ratings and directory information are handled
Venue representatives can update practical information and respond publicly to reviews, but cannot edit or remove visitor ratings. Payments and advertising do not influence scores, keeping the rating focused on visitor assessments of the toilet itself. When planning the route, it helps to check toilets in London.
Visitors may report whether a location was operating, closed or refused access without registering; these reports appear separately from formal ratings. Travellers can also submit reviews, photos and suggested locations. Together, these contributions help improve the information available to people preparing trips, while preserving a distinction between reports and scored reviews.
Directory listing totals displayed on 19 October 2026 count locations, including venues where toilet availability has not yet been confirmed. They are not totals of verified public toilets or cleanliness-rated facilities. This distinction matters when interpreting search results: a listed location is not necessarily a reviewed or confirmed toilet.
