East Kilbride urged to help find missing man, 33
Police Scotland is asking anyone who sees 33-year-old Paul Callaghan, or knows where he is, to contact officers immediately. Members of the public have been advised not to approach him.
Call Police Scotland on 101 with information, or dial 999 in an emergency. Callers should quote incident number 2806 of Thursday, 13 August 2026. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Paul went missing from the Eaglesham Road area of East Kilbride. His last confirmed sighting was in the town’s Oak Avenue area at approximately 8.22pm on Thursday, 13 August.
Description released by Police Scotland
Police have provided several details to help residents recognise Paul:
- He is approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and of medium build.
- He is bald and clean-shaven.
- He was wearing a grey tracksuit when last seen.
- He had a black rucksack with him.
Anyone reporting a possible sighting should tell police where and when it occurred. The locations in the appeal refer to different stages: Eaglesham Road is the area from which Paul was reported missing, while Oak Avenue is the location of his last confirmed sighting.
Confirmed timeline
- Paul was reported missing from the Eaglesham Road area of East Kilbride.
- He was last seen in the Oak Avenue area at approximately 8.22pm on Thursday, 13 August 2026.
- Police subsequently began extensive searches and a review of CCTV in an effort to trace him.
No later confirmed sighting is included in the information released by Police Scotland. Residents should therefore pass any relevant information directly to officers rather than trying to investigate or approach Paul themselves.

Searches and CCTV reviews continue
Officers said extensive searches were being carried out and CCTV was being reviewed as part of the effort to establish Paul’s whereabouts.
The police appeal does not explain why members of the public have been told not to approach him. That instruction should be followed without drawing conclusions about its reason. Anyone who sees Paul should contact police immediately and provide the location and time of the sighting.
Beehive Web has also covered a separate Police Scotland missing-person appeal in Arbroath. That case is unrelated and has a different incident reference.
