Londoners have two free Draft Plan sessions left in August: what residents need to know
Londoners have two remaining opportunities in August to question the proposals that could guide the capital’s growth for the next 20 to 25 years. The free Draft London Plan consultation sessions take place online through Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 August, with registration required through London City Hall.
Residents, businesses, community organisations and anyone interested in London’s future can attend. The 26 August session runs from 10am to 11am and focuses on housing, neighbourhoods and local transport. The final webinar, also from 10am to 11am, turns to design, heritage and the quality of London’s streets and public spaces.
Two August sessions remain for housing and design
The Greater London Authority (GLA) organised five themed webinars between 11 and 27 August. Three sessions covering the economy, growth, infrastructure, the environment and public health have already taken place, leaving two dates in the programme.
| Date and time | Session focus |
|---|---|
| Wednesday 26 August, 10am–11am | Delivering the homes Londoners need |
| Thursday 27 August, 10am–11am | High-quality neighbourhoods, design and heritage |
The housing session covers the Draft London Plan chapter on homes and neighbourhoods, alongside sustainable local transport and access. It gives participants a focused route into proposals that connect where homes are delivered with how people reach local services and move around their area.
The final session examines the use of land, tall buildings, heritage, protected views and inclusive design. Healthy streets, public space, security and safety are also listed among its topics.

Readers seeking earlier context can revisit the July Draft London Plan webinar, which explained how Londoners could take part in the wider consultation.
Each webinar explains how to submit a response
London City Hall says every drop-in begins with a short introduction to the Draft London Plan, why it is under consultation and how people can submit a formal response. Organisers then answer a selection of questions sent in during registration.
Time is also reserved at the end for questions about the proposals and consultation process through the Microsoft Teams chat. Participants may attend more than one session, and attendance is optional rather than a requirement for responding to the consultation.
The plan covers housing, transport, the environment, economic development and other questions affecting how London may grow. Feedback received through the consultation will help inform the next London Plan before it is submitted for independent examination. The consultation itself remains open until 5pm on Thursday 15 October.

Registration and accessibility arrangements
Each webinar is free, but places must be registered through the official London City Hall event page. Questions can be submitted while registering, allowing the GLA to select responses for the scheduled discussion.
The five themed August sessions are not being run as accessible events. Anyone requiring British Sign Language interpretation or other accessibility support is directed to a dedicated accessible online session planned for September, although its date has not yet been confirmed. People with additional requirements for an August webinar can also notify the organisers when registering or contact them before the event.
Names may be visible to other attendees when participants post in the Microsoft Teams chat. London City Hall also notes that recordings will be published after sessions where available, but some webinars may not be recorded.
