A murder investigation has been launched after a 22-year-old man died following a stabbing in Clapham. Six men have been arrested on suspicion of murder as detectives work to establish what happened near Tremadoc Road and Clapham High Street.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed the death and arrests in an update published at 12:47 on Saturday, 25 July 2026. The victim’s family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.

Fatal attack followed by six hospital arrests

Detectives believe the victim was stabbed at around 04:20 close to Tremadoc Road. Police were called at 04:37 after receiving reports that a man had arrived at hospital with a stab wound.

The 22-year-old died in hospital despite efforts by medical professionals. Police have not publicly named him in the information released so far.

Four other men subsequently attended hospital with stab wounds. Police said their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing, although all four remained in hospital for treatment at the time of the update.

Those four men—three aged 22 and one aged 24—were arrested on suspicion of murder. Officers conducting urgent enquiries also arrested two more men, aged 27 and 23, at the hospital. The latter two remained in police custody.

All six arrests were made on suspicion of murder. The investigation remains at an early stage, with detectives gathering evidence and working to determine the full circumstances.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee, who is leading the investigation, said enquiries were progressing quickly. She confirmed that investigators currently place the stabbing at approximately 04:20 near Tremadoc Road.

The known timeline leaves a period of about 17 minutes between the estimated stabbing and the call to police after the victim reached hospital. Detectives are now seeking evidence that could clarify events during the early hours, including anything witnessed near the two locations.

Witness appeal as specialist detectives investigate

Superintendent Mark Gallacher said the death would cause concern within the Clapham community and confirmed that specialist detectives were working to determine what happened. Officers continue to support the victim’s family.
