Police Scotland is trying to trace a van towing a distinctive tall, open-topped white metal trailer after a cyclist was knocked from her bicycle near Dunkeld.

The collision happened at about 1.35pm on Monday, 10 August 2026, at the junction of the A822 and B8063. The van did not stop and was subsequently seen travelling towards Dunkeld.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, saw the vehicle afterwards or drove through the area around that time is being asked to contact police. Motorists should also check and preserve any relevant dash-cam footage before it is overwritten.

Cyclist released after hospital treatment

The cyclist, a 61-year-old woman, was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee following the collision. Police Scotland said she was released after receiving treatment.

No further information about her injuries was provided in the appeal. The police statement did not identify the make, model, colour or registration number of the van.

Tall white trailer may help identify vehicle

The clearest identifying detail released by investigators concerns what the van was towing. Officers described it as an open-topped, tall trailer made from white metal.
