A 38-year-old man has died after a three-vehicle crash on the A68 near St. Boswells in the Scottish Borders.

The collision happened at about 9pm on Saturday, 12 September. It involved a white Ford Transit, a green Suzuki SX4 and a white Honda ZR-V. Emergency services attended, but the Ford Transit driver later died in hospital. Police Scotland said his family has been informed.

The woman driving the Suzuki, aged 62, suffered serious injuries. The 66-year-old male driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries.

Police appeal for witnesses and dash-cam footage

Sergeant Fraser Mitchell said police were thinking of the dead man’s family at an extremely difficult time.

He appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the Ford Transit, Suzuki SX4 or Honda ZR-V before it happened, to contact officers. This includes drivers who were on the A68 or in the surrounding area around the time of the crash.

Police are also asking motorists to check any dash-cam footage recorded while driving in the area. Footage that shows one or more of the vehicles before the collision, or traffic conditions near St. Boswells at the time, could assist officers with their inquiries.
