Students receiving A-level or BTEC results can meet Baseline advisers at Lewisham Civic Suite on Thursday 20 August 2026, from 10am to 2pm. The free session is for young people who want impartial advice about education, training or careers after results day.

Lewisham Council announced the event for students considering routes including university, apprenticeships, further education, training and employment. No advance-booking requirement is stated in the council notice, although students can email the Baseline team for more information before attending.

A place to talk through the available routes

The four-hour session gives students an opportunity to meet the Baseline team in person and discuss what could come next. It may be useful both for those who already have a preferred route and for those whose results have left them reconsidering their plans.

Baseline’s advice is described by the council as free and impartial, covering education, training and careers. Students can also seek support through their school or college if that is more convenient.

Results day can bring different outcomes and emotions. Cllr Rotimi Skyers, Lewisham’s Cabinet Member for Children, SEND, Youth Empowerment and Culture, congratulated students across the borough while recognising that some may not have received the grades they hoped for.

He told young people that “one set of results does not define your future” and said support was available to help them explore their options. The Baseline event is the council’s confirmed in-person opportunity for students who want that conversation after receiving their results.

Who the Civic Suite session is for

The event is aimed at young people receiving A-level and BTEC results in Lewisham. The council’s announcement does not limit attendance to students following a particular path or achieving particular grades: its message is that support is available whatever their results.

That makes the session relevant to students preparing for university, an apprenticeship, further study, training or employment, as well as anyone who has not yet decided which option to pursue. The published information promises advice rather than a fixed programme of talks or scheduled activities.

Similar support is available elsewhere through separate local arrangements, including free post-results careers advice in Reading, but students in Lewisham should follow the details issued by Lewisham Council and Baseline.

Visiting the Baseline post-results event

The session takes place at the Civic Suite in Lewisham on Thursday 20 August, between 10am and 2pm. Attendance and Baseline’s advice are free.

The council has not published transport or accessibility information, and it does not state that advance booking is required. Students who need confirmation about entry arrangements or other practical details should use the instruction on the Lewisham Council announcement to email the Baseline team before travelling.
